Evidence

By the way, Sage, Naomi and I are flying to Utah on Sunday for a month. I have been trying to study for the boards here during the day while Sage is asleep, but it hasn't really been working. So I've quit studying for now, and we are heading out to Utah so I can have a good 3-1/2 weeks of full-time functional cramming while my mom helps out with the kids.

I probably should not be posting right now. I should be doing flashcards or questions for step1. But I am feeling beat. Look, it's Sage!:
Look how big she's getting! And adorable! Sage is a great baby, and I love her, but....can I say it? This is really not the best phase of baby-hood. She can't even smile, she can't steady her own neck, she's a crappy sleeper, she has periods of fussiness that can't be solved, she doesn't interact back with me when I try to play with her, and she goes absolutely berserk anytime someone tries to put her down. It gets better. But does anyone love this particular age best in general? I think it's hard.
Like med school, right? Med school gets better after the boards? Right? I sure hope so. I am sick of step 1.

For the fourth of July, we went to Victoria Gardens in Central Park (the amusement park). We have been wanting to go there since last summer, but Naomi was not tall enough, but she is now, so we went. The rides were perfect for little kids--as you can see these two had a great time.

Here are some pictures of Darlene with the girls. She came to visit this past week, and watched Sage while I was at orientation for my clinical rotations (I'm not starting until August 31, but they only have orientation once a year, so I had to go). She also spent a lot of time with Naomi--playing memory (Naomi is really into card games right now), playing in the backyard, going for walks, reading, etc. It was very fun to have her here, and we really appreciated the help!

An attempt to keep the sun from bothering Sage without actually moving her and risking waking her up:
Sage is now officially 22 inches and 9lbs 12oz, meaning she's gained 3lbs 6oz in the past 5-1/2 weeks, bringing her up to the 50th percentile now in height and weight. Consolation, I suppose, for all the night-time feedings!
