Naomi Climbing #2
The only downside to this is the subsequent attempt to walk straight off the sofa.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving! These first three pictures were actually taken last weekend, when we took a family trip to the Jewish Museum (free on Saturdays) for the *coolest* exhibit ever for kids and adults as well. The exhibit was on William Steig, cartoonist and children's book author/illustrator. Naomi was ecstatic at this place--they had a giant wall with faces that were doors that could be opened to see new things inside, a giant wall with a Steig illustration with creatures on huge magnets that could be moved around the wall, a giant reading room painted Steig-style with Steig books and beanbags, etc. Suffice it to say, the museum was a hit...and the cartoons were very entertaining for Matt and I to read in the meantime.
Here we are, however, at Le Pain Quotidien, where we also had brunch on Thanksgiving.

Our lone picture from the Thanksgiving Parade (camera died shortly thereafter, and we have no pictures of dinner at some friends' house afterward either). Next year we need to come earlier so we can find some better spots...

More Friends...
Here are some feeble attempts at taking a picture of our music playgroup (we meet at our apartment once a week and sing songs, dance, etc):

Naomi and Gabby, Rossana's 3 yr-old daughter who sometimes comes and plays with Naomi (since both Naomi and Gabby seem to be perpetually in motion, the two put together are difficult to capture on camera....):

Reunion with an old friend.... (as old as one has when one is one, anyway...)

Circus Baby
Naomi did a perfect somersault completely by herself Thursday morning.* She had been trying for a couple of weeks, and spending quite some time with her head upside-down between her legs (as shown). Since Thursday, she has not bent over like this once. Maybe it hurt. Maybe we have a novelty-loving thrill-seeker on our hands. All I know is I WISH I had gotten the somersault on camera!
This pose, however, was not accomplished alone.

Naomi in 50 layers, ready to go out in 50 degree weather.
*This was NOT our idea!!!

Who needs fingerpaints and paper when pasta and a belly work just as well?
Naomi at the Natural History Museum's Discovery Room for kids. The lady in charge was bothered by Naomi ("Bring her back when she's a little older"), but she totally loved this room, and didn't do any harm. Plus, she learned the word "Hat", or "Hah-tuh") while trying on different hats.

Cheerleader
Naomi was a BYU cheerleader for Halloween (we went trick or treating with some friends in our building). Incidentally, this costume happens to be very, very representative of both Naomi's current personality (mega-flirt) and current interests (see the pre-somersault-style picture below...an amusing obsession).
